Material comfort is about the life of a homebody and the deep attachment to the items which we collect throughout our lives. The old sweater that belonged to our mother, that one toy we couldn’t live without, or a cherished house plant we look after daily. It is about hanging on to memories and stitching together the past, present and leaving gaps for the future.

The garments are multilayered, and multifunctional as to encourage the wearer to interact and play with each piece, giving each item a sense of newness whenever worn. In this way our garments too can become like the precious toys that we played with as children, but with the functionality that is demanded by modern life

The garment silhouettes are fairly simple and inspired by the dresses and jackets my grandmother wore in rural Colombia, the textiles are traditional. Cottons, gauzes, poplin and other fabric leftovers/rescues. With plaid and nature motif prints. Some pieces are to be knitted by hand or machine using rescue/leftover yarn.
